Look after your braids

Hair Care

Hair oil and a bowl of cream on a woven mat

If you scanned the code on your pack, you're in the right place. These five habits keep your braids neat and comfortable for as long as you wear them.

  1. Seal the ends

    After braiding

    Dip the ends in hot water (not boiling) for a few seconds, then pat them dry with a towel.

  2. Wash your scalp

    Every 1–2 weeks

    Wash your scalp with diluted shampoo. Rinse well and let your braids dry all the way through.

  3. Keep products light

    As needed

    A light oil or leave-in spray on your scalp is plenty. Heavy creams build up in the braids.

  4. Cover them at night

    Every night

    Sleep in a satin scarf or bonnet. It keeps the frizz down.

  5. Take them out in time

    Within 6–8 weeks

    Take your braids out in time so your own hair gets a rest.

How to braid with IBIM

  1. 1Get your hair readyWash, detangle and moisturise, then part your hair into sections.
  2. 2Take a piece from the packIt's already stretched, so you can use it as it is.
  3. 3BraidFeed the hair in at the root and braid down to the ends.
  4. 4SealDip the ends in hot water to seal them.
